Blessed

I’m not much fun these days
I’m blessed in other ways
I wring the poison out, so my words will carry weight
It’s probably too late
I won’t dwell on it soon, it’s just how it is
Would someone watch my kids?
So I can have a break
I swear I won’t go far
Just sit out in the car with my eyes squeezed shut
Pat them on the head, sing to them in bed
Let ‘em know who’s boss
Let them play outside, take them for a ride
Take them by the hand
Show them how it is
Would someone watch my kids so I can have a break
I swear I won’t go far
Just sit out in the car with my eyes squeezed shut
Or look out the window
Where I can watch them grow
Like shadows on the snow
